Hold on tight for this private helicopter experiences. One of our professional pilots will take you on a tour of the Visual Reporting Points on this 15 minute flight for up to 3 passengers.
The Pathfinder Helicopter Experience is an exclusive helicopter flight which is neither a lesson nor purely sightseeing. It’s going to be a fascinating insight into Redhill’s bustling daily life.
We’ll be honest here. If you’re an aviation geek or a budding pilot, you will absolutely love this helicopter experience! Lifting the lid on all the pilot information, all those three-letter aviation acronyms like ATC, ATZ, CTA and CTR, and show you how pilots fly in and out of this busy aerodrome in Surrey.
For a start, Redhill is partly in Gatwick’s CTR (that’s control zone) and CTA (that’s control area). That means there are very strict rules and regulations about how and where you fly. Things called VRPS (that’s Visual Reporting Points) are used by pilots to visually pinpoint the designated entry and exit paths into the aerodrome.
On this Pathfinder flight you’ll be identifying and seeking out those VRPs. We have Buckland Reservoir, the M23/M25 interchange, Godstone village and South Godstone Railway Station. And from these points you have a clear run into and out of the airfield.
It’s compelling stuff for would-be aviators, hear how you communicate with ATC (that’s Air Traffic Control) and navigate in the air. Robinson R44 helicopters operate these special discovery flight experiences. (And it’s worth knowing that helis have their own heli-strips and hover squares at Redhill!).
As this is an exclusive booking, the experience is solely for your group of up to three passengers. A fantastic gift for anyone who is really into flying.
